WHAT IS IT? |
The GAP I camp involves a one week experience for any new student taking the much awaited journey into a High School. The camps will be held at 27 high schools throughout the school district of Hillsborough County.
The goals of the camps are:
- To support the successful transition of rising 9th graders, especially AVID students, into the high school environment.
- To make students aware of the school’s AP program, Bright Futures, and college/university requirements.
- To increase student success in the AP Human Geography course and on exam performance.
|
WHO MAY ATTEND? |
The camp targets the rising 9th grade students entering any of Hillsborough County Public High Schools. The maximum number of students that we can service per school is limited. To get more information about participating in GAP I summer camp just visit the guidance office at the high school your student will be attending in the fall or just Click the link called Camp Registration or Click Here to
register.
* Important Notes:
Dear Student, 1. If you are planning on attending Tampa Bay Technical High School, you have to be accepted to their Magnet or Tech program in order to attend the summer GAP I program. 2. Students may only attend one GAP I program during the summer.
Thank you. |
WHAT IS THE COST? |
There is no cost to participate in the week long experience. Students attend academic classes and participate in activities at their new high school. They get to meet the teachers, meet other students and begin to make the friendships that may last a life-time. |
